VTX1 Fiber Expansion Project
Location: Karnes County, TX
630 Miles of New Fiber Build
NorthStar Telecom is currently partnering with VTX1 on a transformative 630-mile fiber optic network expansion in Karnes County. This large-scale rural broadband deployment is designed to strengthen network capacity, expand high-speed connectivity, and support the growing demand for reliable communications infrastructure throughout the region.
Utilizing advanced construction methods including cable plowing, directional drilling, trenching, and excavation, NorthStar crews are installing extensive underground fiber infrastructure across challenging terrain and remote job sites. Daily operations require navigating rocky soil conditions that push equipment to its limits, while crews also contend with the realities of South Texas field work — including encounters with irritated rattlesnakes and harsh environmental conditions.
Despite these challenges, the NorthStar team continues to deliver exceptional production output and construction quality, maintaining progress measured in miles of completed fiber installation each day. Through a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and precision construction practices, the project has earned ongoing recognition from VTX1 for exceeding expectations in both productivity and workmanship. Projects like the VTX1 fiber build, highlight NorthStar Telecom’s commitment to building the next generation of broadband infrastructure and delivering dependable fiber connectivity to underserved and growing communities across Texas.
